Our Mission

As an organization committed to loving God, loving God’s people, and being good stewards of the earth, Care of Creation seeks to advance this mission:

“Our mission is to pursue a God-centered response to the environmental crisis in Africa which brings glory to the Creator, advances the cause of Christ, and leads to a transformation of the people and the land that sustains them.”

Our response to environmental issues is centered on Godbecause He is the One who made the heavens and the earth and who placed man in the midst of it, to work it and keep it for His glory.

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” Genesis 2:15

What is at the heart of Care of Creation Kenya?

It’s about God and his son Jesus Christ

  • We want to bring glory to the Creator: Apart from the scriptures, the creation is the most complete and spectacular physical evidence of God’s reality and glory. Psalms 19: 1-4 teaches that creation’s voice goes out “to the ends of the world” in a language that all peoples on earth can understand. Since God created this world as a reflection of his own glory and goodness, our desire is to care for creation in a way that reflects the glory and goodness of God.
  • We want to advance the cause of Christ: Our aim is to make Christ known to the world of men and to help Christians become more like Christ in daily life. Even when we plant trees or restore watersheds, we want people to know that we do this because of because of what the Scriptures teach and because of what Jesus has done for us.

It’s about people and their land.

  • We want to see transformation: Sinful behaviors which have degraded the creation and lives which have been degraded by sin can be transformed by Christ and the power of God’s word. Our conviction is that transforming and healing the landscapes of Africa must begin with transforming the hearts and minds of its people.

“Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.”
…that’s relief

“Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.”
…that’s development

“Teach a man to think biblically about fishing.”
…that’s Transformation!
